French blue can become almost too easy: chore jacket, faded denim, brown suede shoes. Familiar colours, familiar references.

The pink striped shirt changes the temperature. It is still a classic shirt, but the colour prevents the workwear from becoming too literal. The pale cap does something similar at the other end of the outfit: less contrast, more distance from the original blue-collar reference.
What remains is not really workwear and not really Ivy either. The jacket provides the structure, the denim keeps it ordinary, and the shirt slightly changes the register.
Sometimes a familiar combination only needs one colour that belongs to a different vocabulary.
