Field note on variations in texture

A Beams Plus cardigan, a lambswool rollneck and Poszetka navy corduroy trousers. Three familiar autumn materials, but three different surfaces.

The cardigan is coarse and irregular, the rollneck almost flat, the corduroy repetitive and vertical. Dark green, brown and navy work in much the same way: closely related without becoming monochromatic.

There is no single piece providing the contrast. Instead, the differences accumulate. Perhaps this is another version of the same idea: a small vocabulary becomes more interesting through increasingly precise variations.
